Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) contribute significantly to emerging areas such as intelligent systems, ubiquitous computing, and the Internet of Things. Wireless sensor networks (WSN) will play a fundamental role in the future Internet of Things (IoT). IoT uses a Wireless Sensor Network, M2M, wireless networking, Internet technologies, Smart sensors, etc.
With the emergence of the Internet of Things, many other proposals have been made to provide sensor connectivity. Hence, it becomes essential to understand wireless sensor networks and their functioning in today’s reality. This course sets up the foundation for the advanced study on wireless sensor networks and to be future-ready in the field of networking.
Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) provide an indispensable sensing and actuation platform in a wide variety of physical infrastructure and systems. Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) provide several applications that offer comfortable and smart-economic life. They are deployed in different locations around the globe for various applications, including long-term monitoring of habitats, finding car parking spaces in cities, monitoring patients’ physiology, transportation, threat detection, etc. This course will introduce learners to state of the art in wireless sensor networks.
This course mainly covers Networking, Layered Architecture – OSI Model to TCP/IP Model in detail, and IEEE 802.15.4 standard. This course also provides a detailed understanding of Addressing, UDP, Clustering, Routing, Architecture of ZigBee, ZigBee Device Object, Architecture of 6LoWPAN, and its features.
